The panel will address the following:
• Growth and development of the life science industry in emerging markets
• Strategic reasons that have resulted in cross-border alliances
• Benefits and Risks of such alliances from both sides of the table
• Critical success factors in these alliance models

The panelists will share relevant aspects of transactions in which they have played a key role. This panel will :
• Describe existing cross border business models, and developing new paradigms
• Discuss potential outcomes of the regulatory uncertainties related to the Hatch Waxman Act, which impact the approval pathways for BioSimilars

Abstract: Companion diagnostics and personalized medicine are intricately linked. The growing role of biomarkers in the later stages of drug development and the validation and commercialization of drug/diagnostic combos will be discussed. In particular the global aspects and needs for standardization and accessibility (regulatory and reimbursement) of these tests in countries outside the USA and Europe is a major concern and should be dealt with early on in the development program.
